Universal Studios asked Latitude to undertake a pricing review and develop a pricing strategy for its DVDs in twelve territories worldwide.
Five-week project involved:
- rapidly pulling together and triangulating pricing data to give a robust view of current pricing in each territory for each type of DVD and retail environment
- analysis of trends and competitor pricing strategies
- assessment of complex network of factors affecting pricing in each territory, for example: retail environment, consumer behaviour, product mix, product lifecycle and competitor activity
- development of a novel but straightforward strategy for pricing different types of DVD
Latitude's work gave Universal the clarity they were looking for on the current pricing situation and strategy. The approach maximised revenue for each title and proved simple to communicate and implement.
